At daybreak on the first day of the week the women . . . went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Although Christ had told his disciples he would be raised on the third day after his death, his empty tomb on the morning of that day came as a shock. At first no one knew what to make of it. Had the body been stolen? They had to run to the tomb to see for themselves. Angelic beings had to tell them what had happened. Notice how none of the disciples believed immediately<\/i>. You\u2019d think they would have reacted with instant joy to the news of this confirmation of Jesus\u2019 promise they had been waiting for so expectantly, but they were surprised and astonished. As believers today, we know that the Good News of Christ\u2019s gospel is not too good to be true.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
