Annual General Assembly of the Slovak Catholic Community was held on November 1, 2015 in the community hall at our Slovak Catholic Centre of Sts Cyril & Methodius in Lidcombe under the watchful eyes of 60 members.<\/p>\n
The main program of the Assembly has included presentations of the Annual Community activity report and the Financial report, including the Financial auditor\u2019s report, for the past fiscal year and a Summary of grants from the \u00darad pre Slov\u00e1kov \u017eij\u00facich v zahrani\u010d\u00ed (Office for Slovaks living in overseas). These have been followed by a preliminary plan of activities for the next year.<\/p>\n
Another important matter of the program has been a long awaited announcement that our new statutes and restructure of our Community into a Private Association of Christ\u2019s Faithful had been approved by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Standing of this Association is now appropriately defined legally as well as canonically. The only outstanding part of the legal process is now to conclude the civil law formalities in order to adequately protect all of our assets, including the church, from any misappropriation or an unwanted sale.<\/p>\n
At conclusion of the proceedings the chairman of the Assembly has thanked all active members for their voluntary work and their selfless support of the Community.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
