It was a liturgy marked by a combination of simplicity and solemnity. From the silence of the opening procession to the silence of departure the liturgy of Good Friday is elemental.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nAfter the reading of the Passion from St John&#8217;s Gospel, everybody had an opportunity to venerate the wood of the Cross and receive Christ in the Eucharist.
