The Catholic Slovak Community in Sydney gathered in their Lidcombe church today to say, “Thank you” and to pray for all mothers, as we celebrated Mother’s Day.

In his reflection on the Scripture readings Fr Henry pointed out that it is through our parents, especially our mothers where we first experience love and where we learn to share that love with others, as commissioned by Jesus in today’s gospel.

Before the final blessing, our children presented a special blessing for all mothers, thanking them for their unconditional love and gave each mum a beautiful rose as a token of love and appreciation.
