Happy Pentecost Sunday
Today, Sunday 23rd May the Slovak Community in Lidcombe celebrated Pentecost.
In his homily Fr Henry reflected on the significance of the Holy Spirit in the life of the early Church 2000 years ago and in our life as believers of Christ today. It was the Holy Spirit who changed the frightened disciples into enthusiastic missionaries. It is also the Holy Spirit who can change us from being lukewarm, indifferent, or passive into committed members of the Body of Christ – the Church. The gifts the Holy Spirit showers on us on Pentecost and every time we turn to him in prayer are there available to all of us in abundance.
After Mass the Community continued the celebration of Pentecost in the community hall with lunch, drinks, table-tennis and lively conversations. Join us next Sunday for Mas at 10.15 AM and our friendly get-together after Mass.
