Have you actually known that? St Nicholas visited a newly built community hall of the Slovak Catholic Centre in Lidcombe for the first time in 1987. The reconstruction of that building has just been completed and formally opened to public in September of that year, so St Nicholas could have come to visit us in our brand new home.

This year’s St Nicholas has materialised from the youngest generation of St Nicholas‘ to date and with his towering stature has commanded a great deal of respect and admiration among our children, some 50 to 60 of them, who have along with their parents filled up the community hall to the tilt.

Let’s not forget his helpers though, who have also attracted plenty of admirers. A cute white winged angel and a terrifying black chain rattling devil were dressed to impress any onlookers.

Stonožka‘s children have circled St Nicklaus on stage and welcomed him with a traditional song before the long awaited and anticipated festivities begun. And how many sweet presents were there for all the children to see? But who’s going to get them … ? Well, eventually there was something for everyone out there, but not without performing some traditional song or presenting a nice poem first.

Even gathered parents have got their gifts in the form of happiness and laughter from their excited offsprings enjoying this blissful occasion at our Centre.
