The dates for our preparation programs for Confirmation & First Communion

On coming Sunday, 01/03/2015 candidates preparing for confirmation and first communion should arrive for the Mass of Enrolment & Commitment at least 15 minutes before Mass, (before 10.00 am.)

• Sunday 22/02/2015 – Enrolment meeting
• Sunday 01/03/2015 – Mass of Enrolment and Commitment (10.15 AM)
• Sunday 01/03/2015 – First instruction session (11.30 am – 12.30 pm)
• Sunday 22/03/2015 – Second instruction session (11.30 am – 12.30)
• Sunday 12/04/2015 – Third instruction session (11.30 am – 12.30)
• Sunday 03/05/2015 – Forth instruction session (11.30 am – 12.30)

Additional gatherings (one in May & one in June) to prepare the Sacrament of Reconciliation & the liturgy of First Communion & Confirmation will be announced at later time.

All candidates preparing for first communion and confirmation are obliged to attend Eucharist every Sunday. If some candidates are not able to attend The Eucharist every Sunday in Lidcombe Slovak Church, they are expected to attend it in their parish community or another Church.

This Sunday, July 5^th we’ll be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation and the First Communion at our catholic church in Lidcombe. Slovak bishop Jozef Haľko, who’ll be visiting us in Sydney for this special occasion, will be leading the celebratory proceedings along with father Henry Adler, SVD.  Compounding this special occasion with the Slovak flavour will be a celebration of Sts Cyril & Methodius, the patrons of Slovakia as well as of our church in Lidcombe.

And as such an occasion deserves, there will be a culinary feast afterwards.
